YANDEX SUMMER SCHOOLS AND OPEN LECTURES 2023 OPENING
"Young&&Yandex" is a direction within Yandex that deals with everything related to youth, internships, and hiring. Among other things, Y&&Y organizes free seasonal Schools and an Open Lecture series.
In collaboration with Koshta Collective, Yandex's creative studio "7.47," and graphic art director Arseniy Popov, we developed the design of a studio for a prologue broadcast, opening the Summer Schools and Lectures. The visual reference for the graphic design of the online course and decorations was the aesthetics of a gaming interface, where the learning process takes on the characteristics of advancing through game levels.
The studio's design, characterized by contrasting colors and forms echoing pixel boundaries, enhances the sense of presence in the gaming space and visually aligns with the concept of a gamified event scenario. While developing the design project, we intentionally leaned towards the flat imagery of early computer games. This effect allowed us to synchronize the graphic tiles with elements of the actual decoration, extending them onto the screen's surface.
